Katharina Marszewski Optik Boom

“Optik Boom” is the first solo exhibition of Katharina Marszewski in Poland. Artist’s practice revolves around the significance of the word and image in contemporary world. Marszewski emphasizes the importance of the creative process and close contact with matter, samples, sketches and repetition. As a result, in addition to the micro-installation she creates collages by asking a question about the representativeness of the image. The works seem to be stuck in a right moment and correspond with each other in non-linear way.

Katharina Marszewski was born in 1980 in Warsaw, lives and works in Berlin. She graduated from the Hochschule für Künste in Braunschweig bildende. Recently her works were exhibited at the Art Berlin Contemporary, and in Poland at the exhibition “Piękna Pogoda” in Foksal Gallery Foundation.
