b. 1969, lives and works in Warsaw

Stańczak graduated from the Antoni Kenar High School of Plastic Arts in Zakopane. From 1988 to 1993, he studied at the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he obtained his diploma from the so-called “Kowalnia” – a studio run by Grzegorz Kowalski. Between 1994–1997, he had a few individual exhibitions (for example, at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw and the State Art Gallery in Sopot). Stańczak later disappeared from the institutional art circuit for many years. The artist’s works can be found in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the CCA Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw, and the Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź. In 2019, Stańczak represented Poland at the 58th International Art Exhibition — la Biennale di Venezia.
